Takadanobaba is a neighbourhood in Shinjuku, Tokyo and Waseda University is located in the heart of Tokyo, which is near Takadanobaba station. Around Takadanobaba there are a lot of places to explore, many shopping malls, many restaurants, café etc. Takadanobaba also has a lot of places for Muslims also like many Halal Grocery shops and restaurants. Near Takadanobaba station, just about 8 minutes walking distance, I found a Japanese Bento service Shop named INEYA. It is a bento shop which has Japanese food Bentos. An old Japanese man and woman are making Bentos and selling them. Among so many bentos, there are few Halal Bentos also available at their shop. They have 4-5 Halal bentos : Ebi katsu, chicken katsu, ajisai tori sobolo, chicken karaage.

The day I visited I ordered an Ebi katsu bento. It was very cheap according to me after seeing the sample of artificial food placed at their counter shelves. The price for Ebi katsu was 600 YEN. I was very excited and curious too at the same time because it was my first time trying a Halal Japanese bento from outside. It took only 8 mins to get my ordered bento. They made it fresh. Once it came, then I was excited to see and taste it. Eating at their shop is somehow allowed but I was in a hurry so after paying I just took my bento. I saw a cute beautiful bento in my bag. What was in my bento? As I chose Ebi katsu bento, so it had noodles, french fries, chicken karaage , melon, banana, fried vegetable tempuras, Japanese rice, lemon, some vegetables like broccoli and lady finger, lettuce, Ebi katsu (shrimp cutlet) and small piece of watermelon.

I was so amazed by seeing the quantity and the way it was made. As I didn’t find any place to eat so I ate it when I came back home. A typical Japanese bento but Halal version. Yes, it was as delicious as beautiful and tempting it looked to me. The taste was just like Japanese food. Everything in the bento was fresh, clean and delicious. The taste changed a little as I ate it after a few hours, but if we eat this bento just after it is given to us anywhere out or at work, anywhere, it will taste fresher and more delicious than it was when I ate.

A highly recommended Bento shop for people who wish to have bentos for any trip, or work, or at school, anywhere, they must get it from this shop. Amazing Halal bentos freshly made by old Japanese men and women. Very cheap prices and can’t be better than this.
