What is falafel?
Falafel is a deep-fried ball or patty shaped fritter made from ground chickpeas, broad beans, or both and with fresh herbs and the right spices. Falafel is a popular Middle Eastern dish. It is often served separately or in sandwiches with a general drizzle of tahini sauce.
Falafel brothers is a vegan restaurant from Israel. In 2017, their first store opened in Roppongi, Tokyo. It is a vegan restaurant that is still rare in Japan but gained popularity among Japanese and vegetarians mainly young people.
Being a restaurant from Israel, they never treated their Muslim customers badly. Always heard good reviews of them. they have a lot of branches in Tokyo. One of their branch is in Shibuya Parco. Shibuya Parco is very near to the Shibuya station around 6-7 min walking distance.
I decided to visit their Parco branch with my Japanese friend who is a vegetarian.
Being a Muslim I was treated very nicely no racism at all. Very kind staff. The décor is very funky style I loved the big falafel sandwich table. It is good for taking great pictures too. Very nice ambience. They have vegan burgers, falafel sandwiches, juices, shakes and a lot of vegan desserts and cookies.
They have a huge selection of sauces, veggies, toppings and seasoning to add to your selected dish whether it’s a sandwich, burger or rice dish. Hummus is the most favourite sauce as it is super creamy. They do have vegan pizza as well in their other branches.
We ordered a falafel sandwich and falafel with rice among with some lemonade drinks. The taste was amazing, super fresh food and very delicious. I have been to their Roppongi branches as well and had the same great experience.
Great ingredients are key to great falafel and the Falafel brothers are best at it. A highly recommended restaurant around Tokyo is 100 % safe for Muslims.
