ANKARA　(delicious Turkish pizza at anakara restaurant)

“Shinjuku” is one of the most crowded and busiest cities of Tokyo. It is also known as the best entertainment district of Tokyo.


There are so many Halal Turkish restaurants around Shinjuku and the good thing is that most of them are easily accessible from Shinjuku station. Ankara Restaurant is one those Halal Turkish restaurants. It is about 4 minutes away by taxi, 8 minutes away by walking from Shinjuku Station. It is located at the 2nd floor of the building. Unfortunately, there is no elevator. At least 50 people can dine in this restaurant. The interior of this restaurant is eye-catching with their classic lights and Turkish style lamps.


They have good meals for lunch starting from 900Yen. I was fed up eating Turkish kebabs and wanted to try something different. So, I ordered a piece of Turkish pizza set. You can choose from 3 different type of flavors which are cheese, meat or spinach. I chose the flavor of meat. The service was quite amazing as they served my meal within a few minutes. The set included pizza, salad, lentil soup and Turkish bread.


The Turkish bread was tasty and very crunchy! I can tell you that It was totally different compared to other Turkish breads. The Soup was mild flavor with lots of veggitables inside such as carrots and mushroom. The Soup was average if I'm being honest. The soup and bread were the appetizer and finally I got to get the main dish which was Turkish meat pizza. The pizza was absolutely superb. I just loved their meat pizza which had cheese also and it was served with a cold spicy tomato sauce which was really good and was a good combination with the pizza.


Staff was very friendly and they were even kid friendly. The restaurant is 100 % halal and serves Turkish food. Usually, this restaurant is crowded during lunch hours but I was lucky to get seats and enjoy my lunch that day.


A recommended restaurant which serves good food for sure. And their Turkish bread is amazing. I will surely visit them again to try their other food dishes.
