If you’re looking for authentic halal Japanese flavors in Asakusa, Halal Wagyu Ramen & Beef Cutlet Shunpudou is a must-visit. Located on the 3rd floor of the Heiwa Building, the restaurant shares the same building as Ichiran Ramen, with a Lawson on the first floor for easy landmark spotting. Just a 10-minute walk from either Tawaramachi or Asakusa Station, Shunpudou is the largest halal ramen restaurant in Asakusa. The ordering system is modern and simple—there’s no physical menu; instead, diners scan a barcode at their table to view the full selection.

The highlight of our visit was the Halal A5 Wagyu Ramen, which came with a rich, umami-packed broth that balanced deep flavors with a smooth finish. The Chicken Chashu Ramen was also delicious, lighter yet still full of character. We also tried the wagyu beef cutlet, and it was outstanding: tender, juicy, and melt-in-your-mouth, making it one of the best katsu experiences we’ve had. The sides were equally impressive, especially the crispy karaage and the gyoza, which had just the right texture and flavor to complement the main dishes. The food was served quickly, making it a great spot even for those on a tight schedule.

Beyond the food, Shunpudou is also known for its Muslim-friendly facilities. The restaurant has a dedicated prayer space with an ablution area, free to use for all visitors. In fact, people are welcome to stop by just to use the prayer room, even if they’re not dining in. Combined with its spacious setting, fast service, and variety of halal Japanese dishes, Shunpudou is perfect for group hangouts, family meals, or even work dinners. For anyone visiting Asakusa and looking to enjoy halal-certified Japanese comfort food, this is definitely a restaurant worth adding to your list.
