Sesamame cafe and restaurant KYOTO

Sesamame café is Kyoto’s first traditional and authentic Halal Arabic and Middle Eastern restaurant. It is very rare to find authentic Arabic cuisine in Kyoto but Sesamame café is the only one that offers the best Middle Eastern cuisine in Kyoto city. The nearest bus station is Takanobashi Higashizume station from there the restaurant is just a 4-minute walk. The restaurant remains closed on Monday and Tuesday. from Wednesday –Friday, the restaurant opens from 18:00 until 22:00. Whereas on Saturdays and Sundays it opens from noon until 14:30 and then from 18:00 – 22:00.

The restaurant itself is very cozy and has a nice atmosphere. The owner of the restaurant is very kind and speaks both English and Japanese language. Even the staff are immensely kind and accommodating with the customers. Their food speaks for itself as they prepare it with perfection. They offer delicious and reasonably priced dishes. They offer authentic lamb kebab, perfectly marinated and grilled. Their quick bite chicken shawarmas are very famous and cost just 700 Yen whereas if ordered from the main dish menu it will cost around 1200Yen. Mutabbal and falafel are also their top dishes because of their authenticity of spices. The manager speaks to himself that they do not adopt the taste of the local palate but they try to reproduce the original. You can enjoy the famous dessert of Arabia which is Qatayef (350 yen) and Harisseh sweets(250 yen). Another famous dish of their restaurant is Lamb Sajiya and Lamb Qalayyeh which are a bit different from each other but cost only 1650 Yen. They both include a traditional Jordanian way of cooking premium lamb in tomatoes/ or just in olive oil, onion, and mixed Arabic spices and are served with Arabic salad and hummus plus you can choose the option of fresh Arabic bread or pepper BBQ rice.
