Turkish foods are a fan favorite in Japan and there are a lot of Turkish Kebab shops opening up all around Japan as well as Turkish restaurants. Among the big Halal Turkish restaurants, Istanbul Restaurant in Ginza is a famous one that provides Halal Food. But how good is their service, their food?

It was a hot early summer day. We reached Istanbul Restaurant around 2 pm as the restaurant closes for a break at 3 pm. The area is filled with other restaurants and cafes. The interior of the Istanbul Restaurant is decorated with Turkish lights, and tiles and has Turkish music playing in the background.

We sat down and the waiter gave us a Lunch menu and the usual menu. We ordered 2 set menus from the Lunch menu. The food did not take much time to arrive but what we did not like that much was the taste and quality of the food. The food was very low in amount considering the price. The lunch menus were not satisfactory at all. The lunch menu had a lentil soup that lacked flavor and was not as hot as soup should be. There are better options than this restaurant like Saray Turkish Kebab in Shinjuku. Our set menus also included a Turkish tea which was average also. We also ordered Baklava which did not taste fresh and felt damp.

If you are craving Halal Turkish foods, there are obviously better options in Tokyo. Our overall rate for Istanbul Restaurant would be 6/10.
