Mongolian cuisine can be found in China’s Mongol Autonomous Region of Inner Mongolia and in another Northern Chinese province, as far east as Beijing. Mongolian cuisine is mainly derived from the traditions of ethnic Mongols. It is a blend of their nomadic diet and influences from Northern China and Russia. Mongolian foods are simple and full of a variety of meat. They use limited vegetables and spices in their dishes.

Although there are a lot Chinese restaurants in Japan but very few of them are Halal or Muslim friendly. But I found one in Takadanobaba, Tokyo. It is very close to the Subway Tozai line Takadanobaba station and a 3-minute walking distance from JR Takadanobaba station. It is a restaurant with authentic Inner Mongolian cuisine with a Mongolian style. They have a big logo at their boards as HALAL BY ARA ISLAMIC DEVELOPMENT SERVICES.

Their menu is huge. They even have hotpots in their menu like authentic Mongolian pot and Dim sum. They also serve Mongolian tea. They have a lot of dishes in their menu which are very eye-catching, many Chinese dishes and many Mongolian dishes. The prices are also very good and pocket friendly. They serve chicken, lamb and beef and everything at this restaurant is Muslim friendly. They have different yakitoris as well with very cheap prices. They have Japanese, Chinese and English menus.

For me it was very hard to order as they have so many dishes. But I ended up ordering their meat pie. I chose the lamb meat inside it; within a few minutes it was served hot. It looked like a kind of paratha (meat paratha /tortilla). It was super-hot so I waited for a few minutes to cool it down first. The taste of their pie was good, the meat was infused with moderate spices. But it was very oily, the oil was literally dripping from the pie. I am not sure whether the food is served this way with so much oil or it was really oily. But no doubt the taste was good. I t was my first-time dining here. And my experience was good enough to visit again.

I heard a lot about this restaurant and its food from others too. So, I will surely be going to visit them again to try their famous hot pots soon.
